A Visit To Golden Temple
Golden Temple |
Our trip to the city of Amritsar started from the divine gurudwara Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as Golden Temple. The gurudwara is built in the middle of a huge Sarovar with one bridge to the gurudwara.
We have to cover our heads before entering the gurudwara premises. We reached there at 9a.m. in the morning but at that time also we had to wait in a long queue for almost two hours to take the blessings of Granth SahibBut the wait was worth it as the peace and calmness experienced after the "divine darshan " cannot be expressed in simple words. Gurudwara Harmandir Sahib holds a special place in Sikhism and every year lakhs of devotees from all over the world come to this pious place for seeking blessings. The Sarovar is said to be so powerful that it can heal many diseases.
The Kada Prashad served there was very delicious. In the gurudwara, the langar is served 24*7 all 365 days and is made by devotees out of their love and devotion to serve for their Guru. I with my family had langar over there that comprised of dal, vegetable, pickle, rice, curd, chapati which is called "Prasada" and Kheer in sweet. The kind of satisfaction that I derived from eating langar I have never ever derived from eating anything in this world.
I would love to go to Gurudwara Harmandir Sahib whenever I will be able to go to experience the peace and contentment that I had experienced over there.
